If you’re expecting a baby or planning a family in the near future, it’s a very special and exciting time. Choosing the right physician and hospital for you are two of the most important decisions you’ll make. To have peace of mind throughout your pregnancy, you need to feel confident that you and your baby will receive the very best medical care. At Glacial Ridge Hospital, we can give you that peace of mind.
We’ve been providing maternity services to residents of Pope County and the surrounding area for decades, and each year more and more babies are delivered in our hospital. Our staff continues to win a special place in the hearts of mothers, as evidence by the many wonderful comments received during their stay, patient satisfaction surveys, and their return for subsequent births. Our doctors have a high level of expertise and genuinely care about making the birth of your little one special.
Below we have provided you with a form to create your own birth plan and a list of websites we feel may enhance your pre-natal and postpartum experience. Enjoy!
BIRTH PLAN
Whether it's your first or your last, you probably have preferences for how -- ideally -- you'd like your baby's birth to be handled. A birth plan allows you to communicate your labor and delivery wishes with us so that everyone who cares for you during your labor and delivery understands your preferences. By having a written birth plan, you can be part of the decision making even if unexpected events occur along the way.
Print a birth plan today and check the options that you know you want, or that you'd like to ask your doctor about. Then, bring it to your next pre-natal appointment. When finalized, a copy will be filed at the hospital so that when the big day comes, everyone knows your desires. You may even wish to put a copy in your hospital bag. Just remember that you'll need to stay flexible in case something comes up that requires your birth team to depart from your plan.
The birth of your baby is one of the most memorable, life-changing, exciting experiences of your life. Thank you for entrusting your care to us.
