Jeffrey A. Schlueter, M.D.
Family Medicine with Geriatrics
Dr. Schlueter grew up in Fergus Falls, MN and
began his immersion into the medical field at an early age. In high school, he became an orderly to fill his spare time. With very low pay, the wealth came in the knowledge it imparted in him and the desire to follow the path of medicine. He continued his service as an orderly throughout college and received an incredible appreciation for the jobs that nursing assistants perform.
Working with people closely is one of Dr. Schlueter’s
greatest enjoyments in this field and he has a great affinity towards the people he comes across on a daily basis as patients, co-workers or fellow Glenwood citizens. The community is one that holds on to many of the same values as those that he grew up among and the proximity to a larger metropolitan area was a big draw for him as well.
Dr. Schlueter serves as a medical director for three area nursing homes, which reflects his dedication to Geriatric Medicine. In addition to geriatrics and family medicine, he also provides general internal medicine.
He attended Moorhead State University for his Bachelor of Arts in psychology before enrolling in the medical program at the University of Minnesota. Finishing school, Dr. Schlueter brought forward a great deal of knowledge from his education and training and began his medical career in Chaska, MN. Later, on a rainy drive through Central Minnesota, Dr. Schlueter and wife Mary Beth came across the town of Glenwood and later decided to make the move to the community they have now called home since 1982.
Away from the office, Dr. Schlueter enjoys landscaping, traveling, and enjoying time on Lake Minnewaska. Dr. Schlueter and his wife have two daughters,Jenna and Heidi — both wives to husbands in the health field.
